Our lives are very short. I personally feel that anything we can offer others as support in times of grief and loss of loved ones is valuable.

I have been a resident of Golden for 50 years. I raised my family, worked part-time: Daycare, local schools and old-age facilities. I’m a member of Golden Hospice Society.

I have a special heart for people and nature. I have been helping and assisting people at the end of life and their loved ones. I feel it is a privilege and blessings to be part of hospice.

Treasurer

Raised on a farm in NE Alberta, the eldest of 9 children. Trained as a teacher and taught in Alberta for 3 years. I’m married with two adult children.

I Worked as a bookkeeper in accounting offices in Banff since the mid-1970’s.

I became a member of the Golden Hospice Society soon after the year 2000, when we moved to Golden.

Secretary

I was born in Golden and still reside there after enjoying many businesses before retiring a few years ago.  Hospice was always something that I was naturally attracted to and a small group started in Golden approx. 25 years ago.  We were a very casual group until 1999 when we became more structured and finally joined the BC. Hospice Association.

We are still strictly a volunteer group of trained individuals who are always ready to assist when being called.

I am a past president of our local group and have been the secretary of the Golden Hospice Society for the past several years
